A man is charged in federal court with assaulting and robbing a Mayes County deputy.
The affidavit says the deputy was called out on May 5th because a landowner had told Jesse Jackson and Amy Terry, they were trespassing and the couple became belligerent.
It says when the deputy saw the couple, by the no trespassing sign, he told them, they would have to leave.
It says Jackson was recording the encounter with a cell phone, appeared to be under the influence of drugs and refused to leave, so the deputy got Jackson by the elbow to escort him off the property.
It says Jackson started fighting and punched the deputy in the face, nose and back of the head.
It says Jackson grabbed the deputy’s radio and said, “don’t touch my wife” before beating the deputy in the head, then threw the radio on the ground.
It says the deputy retrieved the radio and called for back-up and the Jackson and Terry were arrested.
It says the deputy was dizzy and nauseous and treated at the hospital for a concussion.
Jesse Jackson is charged with robbery and assault in federal court.
Amy Terry is charged in Mayes County with assault on a police officer, obstructing and malicious injury to property.
