On March 3, 2022, a man called 911 after finding a human torso in a shopping cart.
The man discovered the torso on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
The man who called 911 stated he had walked past the cart around 12:30am; when he walked back around 1:45am the cart was still there, so; he decided to check what was in it.
He put his hand in the rolled down bag and felt toilet paper. Upon opening the bag fully, the man discovered the torso of a woman.
According to police, the torso did not have any identifiable marks, nor did it have any shooting or stab wounds. Police searched nearby areas and have not been able to find the remaining body parts.
As of March 5, 2022, police have not identified the victim. According to new outlets, police believe the victim was a 68-year-old female living at a LGBTQ shelter in Brooklyn.
Reports also stated that a man has been taken in for questioning about leaving the shopping cart and may have information or be connected to the murder.
