A Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol and observed a vehicle pulled off on the shoulder of the roadway on HWY 151 near HWY 73 in the Town of Columbus.
The vehicle had it’s hazard lights on and appeared to be disabled. The deputy stopped out with the vehicle to see if they could be of assistance.
The deputy made contact with the driver and determined the vehicle had run out of gas. While speaking with the driver, the deputy learned that there had recently been drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
A K-9 sniff was conducted on the vehicle by K-9 Artus. Artus alerted to the odor of controlled substances coming from the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle and it’s contents, the deputy located nearly 1/2 ounce of cocaine, approximately 4 ounces of marijuana, scales, packaging material and US Currency.
The driver was identified as Saischia Vasconcelos, age 22, of Horicon. Saischia Vasconcelos was taken into custody and transported to the Columbia County Jail on the following charges:
-Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine
-Possession with intent to deliver THC
-Possession of drug paraphernalia
-Felony bail jumping
-Misdemeanor bail jumping
