Meet Abel. He is a humanoid robot

 designed to read human emotions: the robot

 is said to be capable of using AI

 and putting it to practical use in a social context. Abel

 can analyse the emotions of his interlocutors and is designed to give a viable way to relate to patients

 suffering from neurodevelopmental and neurodivergent disorders. Abel can also understand and analyse cognitive

and emotional responses and is thus aimed at a better understanding of them.

Abel was created by bioengineers, who are professionals that apply engineering to solve problems in biology and medicine.

The group of engineers belongs to the University of Pisa, and Gustav Hegal, an FX artist from Biomimic, an organization dedicated to reading human emotions.

Abel was created to be a companion for people who suffer from social and communication disorders, such as autism or disease.
