A driver shot himself in the head during a traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon, according to Pensacola Police
The driver was pulled over around 4:15 p.m. on I and Cervantes Street for expired tags.
They say the man shot himself in the head as the officer approached the truck.
Police closed Cervantes Street after the incident and the driver was transported to the hospital in the police patrol car.
He then died from his injuries.
Cervantes Street was reopened shortly after the incident.
