A drive-by shooting in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood

Early on Sunday morning, a drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood claimed the life of a man.

An individual in a black truck is said to have shot a 27-year-old man at 2:30 p.m. while he was in an alleyway close to 52nd Street and South Central Avenue.

The victim sustained a chest wound. After being taken to Loyola Hospital in critical condition, he was subsequently declared deceased.

There have been no takedowns. Detectives from Area One are looking into it.
