A 59-year-old man was injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday night in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a crash in the 1600 block of West 47th Street and discovered the victim laying on the ground with an ankle injury.
According to witnesses, the victim was crossing the street when he was hit by a red pickup truck traveling southbound on Ashland Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle came to a complete stop before fleeing the scene.
According to police, the victim did not use the crosswalk.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and is said to be in good condition.
There is no one detained. Area One detectives are looking into it.
