While riding the CTA Red Line early Sunday morning, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the ear and eye.
The boy heard multiple shots in the 100 block of West Cermak Road around 4:52 a.m., according to Chicago police, who were unable to provide further details.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. A witness provided a possible description of the man responsible for the shooting, according to police.
Officers found a man who matched the description and recovered a handgun.
The man was arrested, and police are investigating the incident.
