A male victim is in hospital after being stabbed inside a North York school Tuesday afternoon.
In a tweet, police said there are reports that a person has been stabbed inside George S. Henry Academy at 200 Graydon Hall Drive around 1:40 p.m.The victim and suspect reportedly fled the school shortly after. Both are believed to be students.
The victim was eventually located in a nearby hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a trauma centre in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.
The Toronto District School Board says the school was in lockdown while police investigated, but it was since been lifted and students are being let out of class.
Police are looking of a suspect wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.
School is expected to resume Wednesday and TDSB officials say social workers and councillors are on site and will be available to students today and tomorrow.
