Ever heard the urban legend that if you type ‘Google’ into Google you can break the Internet?
Well, apparently, typing ‘Google’ into its main rival will just add you to the others who got lost on the way to the world’s most popular search engine.This is according to a lawyer representing Google in an EU court case which, ironically, accuses the search engine of unfairly pushing out its rivals.
The lawyer submitted evidence to the case showing that ‘Google’ is ‘by far’ the most searched-for term on Microsoft’s rival engine. He claims this proves people are choosing to use Google instead of just using it because it’s the default search engine.
Not sure about this one… Searching for ‘Google’ on Bing seems a bit too much like Searchception for us.
