A 20 year old woman is charged with child neglect in Tulsa County after investigators say her baby was born with amphetamines, cocaine and fentanyl in his system.
The affidavit for Jamee Schrimsher says the baby was born May 15th and Schrimsher admitted using fentanyl daily during pregnancy and also using some cocaine and meth.
It says medical records show she tested positive for illegal drugs during her pregnancy and tested positive for amphetamines and cocaine the day she was admitted to give birth.
It says the baby was placed in NICU and given several doses of morphine daily to help with the pain of withdrawals and the baby had high pitched, inconsolable cries, clenched fists and toes and an arched back.
The baby was discharged from the hospital about a month later.
If Schrimsher makes the $5,000 bond, she’s been ordered to have no contact with him.
This is a charge, not a conviction.
