Rhode Island -Two people are dead and at least one is injured after a police-involved shooting downtown late Thursday afternoon.
Neighbors and other sources at the scene say the shootings took place at the Italo American Club on Kelly Street, and at another location on Water Street, where the police were involved.
Warren Police Chief Roy Borges confirmed that two men were dead and a third was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with gunshot wounds. His condition is unknown.
Borges told the Globe that police received a call about an incident at the Italo American Club. When they arrived, they found one victim alive in the parking lot. Warren police went inside and found a second man at the bar, dead.
A Bristol police officer was on nearby Water Street, en route the club, when the gunman shot at him.
The Bristol officer fired back. The gunman died at the scene; Borges said they are still investigating the shooting and cause of the death.
