Washington – Clamping Down on Trolls & Online Abuse – Or just blocking content?
Accounts will be banned for seven days if they are found to be bombarding others or sending out ‘hateful’ content:
“There are so many different ways to say bad things, and it is rocket science to build tools that can spot these,” Katy Minshall head of Twitter UK Public Policy said.
The company’s main aim is to “reduce disruptive interactions on Twitter, which in turn improves the health of the public conversation.”
The feature will be tested on a small group before being rolled out across the platform.
