Nj.com – Reser’s Fine Foods initiated the recall of its standard and white cheddar mac and cheese products after a refrigeration unit on a trailer carrying the products broke down, causing possible spoilage.
According to Newsweek, the company pulled the products sold in California, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The recall has been classified as a Class II recall, where the “product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the U.S. Food and Drug administration.
There were also other products included in the recall, including potato salads, scalloped potatoes, pasta salads, corn, egg salads, gravy, spinach dip and desserts.
A spokesperson for Reser’s Fine Foods told Fox Business that the issue was an “isolated” incident.
“The recall was initiated on 7/29/24 and no affected products ever made it to the [store] shelves,” the spokesperson said. “Any items purchased from stores are safe to consume.”
