The Wall Street Journal has obtained body cam footage of local police complaining that they repeatedly asked the US Secret Service, days in advance, to secure the warehouse that was eventually used by the shooter who attempted to assassinate Trump and killed one man.
Local Pennsylvania police complained in the moments after last month’s attempted assassination of Donald Trump that they warned the U.S. Secret Service days in advance that the warehouse where the shooter was positioned needed protection, according to new videos obtained by The Wall Street Journal.Â
The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who shot Trump in the ear, fired from the roof of a nearby building during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has been heavily criticized for security lapses that allowed Crooks to get that close to the former president.
Yoes said Rowe’s remarks were like “a general blaming a tank driver for losing a battle. The Acting Director needs to focus on finding out what went wrong before he blames his agency’s local law enforcement partners.” Â
