A woman has been charged with child neglect, accused of giving birth to a drug addicted baby.
The probable cause affidavit for Jazmine O’Neal says she gave birth on October 18, 2023.
It says O’Neal tested positive for fentanyl and THC at the time and so did the baby’s cord blood.
It says when DHS went to the hospital, the baby was red, stiff, shaking uncontrollably and screaming in pain.
It says nurses said the baby screamed all day and had trouble eating due to the pain and they were using morphine to try to control the withdrawal symptoms.
The baby remained in the NICU until November 7th.
