Stuart Police have arrested Stacey Marie Carey and Thomas Joseph Gity for their involvement in a hit-and-run crash that killed Harry Maser in March.
According to police, after further investigation from the crash site, police identified the vehicle that struck Maser as a white 2021 Range Rover.
Detectives identified the license plate affiliated with the car and with help from Martin County Sheriff’s office they obtained a search warrant to search 8300 Cattleya Drive in Martin County.
At the residence, officials found and impounded the Range Rover as evidence.
With the help of the Port St. Lucie Police Department, detectives obtained a search warrant for 1248 Mancuso Drive in Port St Lucie where they collected evidence.
Police identified Carey as the one driving the Range Rover on March 16.
Gity, her fiance, had the Ranger Rover registered under his name at both addresses.
Detectives determined Carey regularly drove the Range Rover.
On April 26, both Carey and Gity were arrested for the following:
Stacey Carey one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving death and one count of tampering with evidence, total bond of $260,000.
