A Walmart store in Outer Loop was put on lockdown Sunday afternoon due to an ongoing standoff with Louisville Metro Police in a parking lot close to the building.
A MetroSafe supervisor said a call came in for the 100 block of Outer Loop at 10:56 a.m.
A WDRB photographer on the scene said a perimeter was made on the grocery side of the Walmart to help move people out.
There are over 20 police cars on the scene along with SWAT as officers had a vehicle surrounded in a parking lot near the Walmart and other buisnesses. LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said the situation is developing.
It’s unknown at this time if there are any injuries and what caused the incident.
