12-year-old shot and killed in St. Paul this morning.
Saint Paul police are investigating a fatal shooting on the 200 block of Stinson Street.
Officers were called just before 5 a.m. for a juvenile male who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located the 12-year-old who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Saint Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Regions Hospital where he later died.
Officers secured the scene and have located possible witnesses with whom they are interviewing.
The Forensic Services Unit will be processing the scene for evidence and investigators are working to determine what led to this incident. No further information is available at this time.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death.

This is the 22nd homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul.
