One man died and another is in critical condition Thursday evening, after an argument in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.
There was a disturbance between a 22- and 25-year-old man about 2:50 p.m. in the 7100-block of South Jeffery Boulevard, CPD said.
The 25 year old shot the 22 year old in the torso, and a male security guard working at a retail store then shot the 25 year old, police said.
The 25 year old was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.
The 22 year old was taken to U of C in critical condition.
The security guard is also a part-time police officer at Cook County Hospital.
Chopper 7 was over the scene about 4:30 p.m., and a large police presence could be seen.
