A man accused of killing a Hancock deputy in 2021 will spend his life is prison after pleading guilty to capital murder.
Rohrbacker was charged in the shooting death of Deputy Lt. Michael Boutte on February 1*, 2021 and was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole or early release.
On count two, aggravated assault, he was sentenced to 20 years, and count three, aggravated assault on a peace officer, he was sentenced to 30 ears.
He will serve all three terms concurrently.
Deputy Boutte’s daughter and son delivered emotional statements in court, telling Rohrbacker their children will never know their grandfather and that he will never get to walk his daughter down the aisle lat her wedding.
The Boutte familv was ioined by several Hancock County officers.
