Authorities in Fairmont are responding after a train derailment near the northwestern part of the town.
According to BNSF, a total of 16 cars derailed during the storm this morning. No injuries were reported, according to Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
County emergency management also said the Fairmont Fire Department’s radio communications tower has been damaged as a result of the derailment.
The cause of the derailment is not yet known.
