FAYETTEVILLE, NC— A shooting incident occurred on May 29, 2023, in the 400 block of Lynn Avenue, located off Ramsey Street in north Fayetteville, NC, and is currently under investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit.
Local officers responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 3:33 p.m., discovering a male victim with gunshot wounds upon their arrival at the scene.
The victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for required medical attention.
Investigators took a person of interest into custody at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting was not a random act, as the victim and suspect are believed to have been acquainted.
