Woman has been charged with embezzling from her employer.
The affidavit for Brittney Jackson says she worked at a medical office and patients often get refund checks to cover the difference between what they paid and insurance covers.
It says Jackson was a manager and altered 29 of those checks to go to people who were not patients at all.
It says the checks totaled more than $34,000.
It says when police went to the people who received and cashed the checks, they all denied knowing Jackson.
So, police got a warrant for Jackson’s cell phone records and showed the people who received checks, had actually been in contact with Jackson by phone, dozens and dozens of times.
She was charged May 5th.
