Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark says the former employees of the hotel were paid to turn a blind eye to illegal activity in hotel rooms.
Clark says 16 females were trafficked at the Seven Days Hotel on Bruckner Boulevard in the Bronx from August 2019 to November 2022, adding that nearly half of them were minors.
The district attorney’s office says that the hotel manager, front desk clerk and security guard aided in the prostitution by giving discounted room rates in exchange for cash.
One undercover NYPD officer claimed to witness the hotel staff neglecting to check the IDs of the alleged pimps and sex workers checking into the hotel. Â
The hotel also failed to post a human trafficking victims hotline number inside, which is required by New York state law.
The indictment contained 80 charges. Those charges include enterprise corruption, endangering the welfare of a child, promoting prostitution, sex trafficking and rape.
