A 19-year-old woman was shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood early Tuesday.
According to police, the woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 4200 block of South Ashland Avenue around 12:25 a.m. when someone in a tan-colored SUV began shooting.
The gunfire struck the woman in the arm. She was taken to Rush University Medical Center by a friend and later transferred to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in good condition, according to police.
As Area One detectives conduct their investigation, no one is in custody.
An hour earlier, a 22-year-old man was shot blocks away in the same neighborhood.
