Tulsa Police arrest a man accused of assaulting his former boyfriend and leaving him locked in a garage with a car running.
The affidavit for James Russell says he and the victim had been in a relationship over several years and because Russell was homeless, the victim let Russell stay with him from time to time.
It says on October 13th, 2022, police were called by neighbors to check on the victim and they found him passed out in the passenger seat of his car in the garage.
Police say the two men had gone to the store and Russell became paranoid and violent and began beating the victim and threw the victim’s phone out of the window.
Police say when they got home, the victim tried to get out of the car, but, Russell punched the victim, pushed him back inside, reclined the seat, then, locked the garage and left the car running.
Police say the victim is 64 and can’t walk without a walker and couldn’t get out of the vehicle, due to pain and the angle of the street and he passed out, until police found him and woke him.
Russell was booked for domestic assault and battery and kidnapping.
Records show he has the previous convictions in Tulsa:
