Claudine Kammo, 43, of Union City, was arrested Friday just hours after federal agents and law enforcement from both states raided her storage unit in North Bergen, police sources said.
Cops found 97 brand-new Canik 9-mm firearms, each packed in shipping boxes with two magazines, the sources said. Three other guns were seized separately.
The NYPD got wind of the illegal plot to bring guns into the tri-state area that were purchased by a Vermont firearms dealer after being imported from a Louisiana wholesaler, according to sources.
NYC detectives then looped in the New Jersey State Police, which got the warrant to search the storage unit, sources said.
The firearms were brand new.
“This work highlights law enforcement’s effectiveness in working collaboratively with all partners to fight crime and keep New York City and New Jersey safe,” the source said.
