Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Departments Property/Fraud Unit were investigating a Motor Vehicle Breaking and Entering trend.
On March 20, 2023 a suspect was taken into custody.
Multiple Motor Vehicle Breaking and Entering’s began in the early part of March along the 3400 block of Village Drive.
Detectives investigated the trend with the assistance of Cape Fear Valley’s Allied Universal Security Officers.
On March 20, 2023 at approximately 2:26 am officers responded to the 3400 block of Village Drive for a report of a male actively breaking into a motor vehicle.
With the assistance of Allied Universal Security Officers, the suspect, Christian N. Hammonds (White male, 22 years of age) of Fayetteville was taken into custody.

Christian Hammonds was charged with 12 counts of Breaking & Entering of a Motor Vehicle, Larceny of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, 7 counts of Possession of Stolen Property and 7 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny.
Hammonds is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail under a 17,500.00 secured bond.
