Alameda food tech company Good Meat is one step closer to bringing its lab-grown chicken to market.
The so-called cultivated meat producer received a “no questions” letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in which the regulatory agency accepts the company’s claims that its product is safe for human consumption.
The FDA reached the conclusion after an analysis of Good Meat’s cultivated cells, production methods and final product.
The company joins Berkeley’s Upside Foods in receiving this FDA approval for its cultivated chicken; Upside received its “no questions” letter in November 2022.
