The General Administration of Customs WeChat account had an exciting situation recorded by Qingmao Customs.
Qingmao is one of the subsidiaries of Gongbei Customs in China.
On Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Cross-Border Industrial Zone, a man was detained after officials scanned the gentleman’s Yadea KS series electronic scooter and found an inner package of 84 Kingston solid-state drives.
From ongoing glances, you would never have known the man was smuggling SSDs through borders. The person was pushing the Yadea KS series electric scooter, and one would assume he needed to charge up his ride after passing patrol.
The gentleman traveled towards the line for non-declaration of merchandise and more. Customs members asked him to place his electronic scooter through the x-ray device to verify nothing was hidden in its chassis.
As it moved along the conveyer, the customs authorities began to realize an unknown object was within the front bumper.
