Three of the eight teens wanted in connection with a brutal assault near Philadelphia City Hall have turned themselves in to police.
On Thursday night, police said they had identified seven of the eight teens and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office approved charges for their arrests.
Police said they are still working to identify the eighth suspect and take the additional suspects into custody.
The assault happened just after 7 p.m. on February 23. A 34-year-old woman was knocked down and beaten by a group of young people at 15th and Chestnut streets.
“For eight kids to completely just take away any sort of comfort that I feel walking down the street, it just makes me sick,” the woman said in an interview with Action News.
While the woman did not want to show her face or give her name, she wanted to share her story in hopes of helping someone else.
“I just want everyone to be really cautious, like walking around, which shouldn’t happen. It shouldn’t have to be like that,” she said.
