A woman is in custody and charged with two counts of child neglect
The affidavit for Katelin Williams says deputies were called to a home last October when neighbors found a 3 year old boy covered in dirt and mud on their property and he was unable to speak.
It says Williams showed up and said her son was autistic and runs off often.
Deputies say the boy had been missing 30 minutes and Williams had contacted no one.
It says she was living in a camper trailer with no running water for 6 months and there was rotten food around the front door, covered in flies and the boy looked like he hadn’t been bathed in a long time.
The deputy called DHS who has a previous child neglect referral involving Williams.
It says she has 4 children and one of them had nearly drowned in June of 2022.
It says she had 3 of the kids at that time and one of the fathers had the 4th child.
It says that father was living in a place with no water or lights or heat or a/c with broken appliances around, power tools with rusty blades, propane tanks and all kinds of junk inside.
It says the father was told to move to a safer place with the girl and he did.
It says after the October incident, Williams took the girl and the other 3 kids and fled out of state.
It says the Oklahoma DHS worker called that state’s hotline for a safety assessment follow up, but, that state said the case didn’t meet the criteria, so did nothing.
Williams is charged with 2 counts of child neglect.
