RawNews1st -Both wanted persons recently published in the media by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office have been located and apprehended as of 02/15/2023.
Just after 5:00 pm, 51 year old Donald Gene Squires was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 6600 block of North CR 850 E near Howe in LaGrange County, Indiana after a brief standoff with Sheriff’s deputies from both LaGrange and Steuben Counties.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Law Enforcement Division and the LaGrange Town Marshal’s Office also assisted with Squires’ arrest.
Later that evening just after 6:00 pm, 26 year old Jared Michael Lesher was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 800 block of Pine Run on the city of Angola’s east side.
Angola Police responded to an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip concerning Lesher’s whereabouts and were able to locate him.
Both Squires and Lesher were booked into the Steuben County Jail on their respective outstanding arrest warrants.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all who assisted with providing tips and information.
Any criminal charge is merely an accusation. The Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
