RawNews1st – According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, Detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Raneshia Pointer, 21, of Baton Rouge in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in Prairieville, which left one person injured.
Raneshia Pointer is charged with principal to attempted second degree murder, principal to illegal use of weapons, two-counts of principal to aggravated damage to property, simple battery, disturbing the peace, and child desertion.
Detectives have also received an arrest warrant for Rhesa Pointer, 40 of Baton Rouge.
She will be charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, two-counts of aggravated damage to property, simple battery, disturbing the peace, and child desertion.
On Tuesday, November 15, deputies responded to a shooting at a gas station on Highway 73, near I-10.
There was no shooter or victim at the scene when deputies arrived. Through further investigation, detectives learned that one female subject was struck by gunfire.
She received treatment at an area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

During their investigation, detectives learned that Rhesa Pointer and her daughter Raneshia Pointer went to the gas station with the intent to fight a separate group of women.
During their brawl Rhesa Pointer fired a handgun, striking the victim multiple times. Raneshia Pointer turned herself in after detectives were issued a warrant for her arrest. Rhesa Pointer is still wanted.
