RawNews1st – According to reports from Officer T. Olexo of the White Sulphur Springs Police Department, Olexo himself along with Officer Meadows were dispatched to Moores Laundry on Big Draft Road on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at approximately 8:18pm.
Arriving on the scene, officers spoke with Ms. Sherri Dowdy-Wilson who advised that she had been in a physical altercation with her daughter, Mrs. April Wiley.
This encounter took place at Reds Body Shop nearby, and saw Wiley push Wilson down, get on top of her, and strangle her, according to Wilson, who advised that her neck was still sore from the altercation and that she would like to be evaluated by EMS.
The investigative report confirms that officers observed a scratch mark along the left side of Wilson’s neck along with redness and noticeable bruising.
Wilson told officers that, as she was being strangled, her airway had been blocked to the point her vision began to blur and she was on the verge of losing consciousness.
Additionally, Wiley purportedly exerted so much force in the strangling attempt that Wiley urinated on herself, resulting in her having to change pants following the encounter.
Wilson advised that Wiley could still be at the body works shop and that she owns a red Jeep. She was then transported to the hospital by EMS.
The officers made their way to the body shop were they did find a red Jeep.
The officers were approached by a woman who, when asked, identified herself as April Wiley.
In providing her recollection of events, Wiley stated that she had been at the body shop with Wilson when a verbal argument ensued.
Wiley stated that during the argument, Wilson “came at her.” When asked to elaborate on what she meant by this, Wiley said Wilson had walked toward her with her “hand up.”
She did inform officers that she did not feel as though Wilson were going to hit her, however, but that she might “pull her hair.”
Wiley then confirmed that she pushed Wilson to the ground, punched her when she tried to get up, then started strangling her.
When specifically asked whether she had indeed strangled Wilson with enough force as to make her urinate on herself, she confirmed that this was true.
April Dawn Wiley faces charges of Strangulation.
