At least three have been killed and six injured in a stabbing at a nursery in China.
Police in Jiangxi wrote on China’s Weibo platform that a “gangster” stormed the kindergarten at around 10am local time before carrying out a horrific knife rampage, killing three and injuring six.
Once inside the armed man killed three and left six injured. The ages of the victims have not yet been confirmed.
Officials released the name of their initial suspect – a 48-year-old local man called Liu Mouhui.
In unconfirmed videos of the scene shared on social media, a police officer can be seen carrying a tiny child in his arms from a partol car to an ambulance.
Police said Mouhui is still at large and escaped after carrying out the attack.
In April last year, a knife-wielding man broke into a school in the city of Beiliu, a city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.
The 24-year-old man was seized by cops and only his surname, Zeng, was released by police.
