On May 18, 2022, at approximately 4:36 pm, 2nd shift patrol officers responded to the 100 block of South 12th Street on a shooting call.
It was reported a large group of people were fighting and then shots were fired and people started screaming and running.
Officers located Deshonna Austin age 42 of Richmond with a gunshot wound to the leg and Cameron Ruble age 18 of Richmond with a gunshot wound to the hand.
Both were transported to Reid Health with non-life threatening injuries for treatment.
Investigators processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Investigators have learned there was an altercation amongst the people on scene with a gun being produced. A struggle then ensued over the gun during which the victims were shot.
Investigators are not looking for anyone else in this investigation at this time and no arrests have been made.
Richmond Fire Department and Indiana State Police assisted at the scene.
Burglary:
On May 18, 2022, at approximately 11:55 am, a residential burglary was reported on the Northwest side of Richmond.
Several firearms and multiple other items were reported stolen in the burglary. Investigators responded and processed the scene.
At approximately 2:30 pm, officers located two juveniles and Kierin A. Eubanks age 19 of Richmond in the 200 block of NW 13th Street.
After a brief investigation officers located some of the stolen items and some of the stolen firearms.
Kierin A. Eubanks was lodged in the Wayne County Jail for L4 Burglary and L6 Theft. The juveniles were lodged at YOC in Muncie for L4 Burglary and L6 Theft.
