May 10, 2022- 8:44 a.m.
Rocky Mount, N.C. – On May 10, 2022, at approximately 02:49 a.m., the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to reports of a shooting with injury in the 1000 block of Proctor Street.
Once on the scene, officers found a 9-year-old male juvenile had sustained an injury from an apparent gunshot.
The preliminary investigation shows an unknown subject fired shots into the residence and fled the scene.
The juvenile was transported to Vidant Hospital in Greenville, NC where he is listed in stable condition.
The Rocky Mount criminal investigations division as well as the crime scene unit responded to the scene. The investigation is on-going.
