OKLAHOMA CITY –
Surveillance video from a metro bar helped identify an accused shooter and his accomplice.
Police said Diana Perez, 30, and Emilio Ybarra, 32, ambushed four victims on Saturday, killing 22-year-old Kelly Lucio in a restaurant parking lot.
Investigators learned the suspects waited in the parking lot of Classen Grill across from the bar. The woman sat in a car while the alleged shooter hid behind a pillar waiting for the victims.
Four people were caught in a deadly attack as they left Edna’s bar last weekend. Police was called after multiple gunshots hit two victims near Northwest 50th Street and Classen Circle.
“Officers located 22-year-old Kelly Lucio, who was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Oklahoma City Police Department Sgt. Megan Morgan said. “A second gunshot victim, identified as 44-year-old Lorenzo Ramirez, was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.”
It was a scene Classen Grill employees never expected to see when they arrived for work.
“Just thinking about it like man somebody died over there,” witness Junior Luna said.
Lucio’s family and friends started a GoFundMe to help pay for the 22-year-old’s unexpected funeral. They said she had big dreams and so much life to live, but her life was cut short.
Police arrested Perez and Ybarra only days after the deadly shooting.
Detectives said they were seen on surveillance video at the bar together, as a couple, with several other men. Investigators noted in the arrest warrants that the group was staring at the victims.
Later in the evening, as Ramirez, Lucio and two other people left the bar, cameras caught Ybarra hiding.
“Once the victims where within feet of the suspect, muzzle flashes were seen as the victims ran and fell to the ground,” court documents said.
Investigators found 12 spent casings and other evidence where the victims were shot.
The suspects each face one complaint of first-degree murder along with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
