Taiwan Power Returning after Outage hit 5MN Homes
Taipei’s state-run power operator says it is in the process of restoring the island’s supply, after a major generation plant failure had left millions of people off the grid.
The firm said that a transformer malfunction at the Hsinta coal-powered station – which provides around one seventh of the island’s power – was to blame, although authorities have not ruled out a hack.
