Poland bought Pegasus Technology “To Combat Crime and Corruption”
Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of Poland’s ruling conservative party, has confirmed his country bought advanced Pegasus spyware from Israel, but denied it is being used against his political opponents.
His insistence comes after a Canadian cyber watchdog Citizen Lab found that three Polish government critics, including opposition election chief Krzysztof Brejza, were hacked with the NSO software.
Local media reports indicate Poland has in fact been using Pegasus software since 2017 using money from the Justice Fund designed to help victims of crime.
