Chicago -A woman was shot and critically wounded Friday night while driving in Fifth City on the West Side.
The 20-year-old was driving about 11:35 p.m. in the 3400-block of West Jackson Boulevard when she was shot in the head, Chicago police said.
She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was in critical condition, police said.
The woman did not appear to be known to police, sources said.
No one was in custody and police did not immediately provide any additional information about what might have led up to the shooting.
