Florida -During a press conference on Saturday, Orange County Sheriff John Mina announced that a body believed to be Miya Marcano has been found.
The body was found at the Tymber Skan apartments, off of South Texas Avenue.
According to Mina, cell phone records of Armando Caballero, the suspect in Miya’s disappearance, showed that the suspect was near the apartments for about 20 minutes before killing himself.
Search teams found the body this morning.
The medical examiner’s office still needs to confirm the identity of the deceased and find the cause of the death.
Miya Marcano was last seen leaving work around 4:30 p.m. on September 22nd according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. She worked at Arden Villas and also lived there. Her family said she had a flight booked on Friday night to Fort Lauderdale, but she never made it onto the plane.
Caballero was determined to be a person of interest after Marcano was declared missing. His vehicle was found near the scene of his death and has been taken in for evidence.
Authorities said Caballero had been a maintenance man at the complex since June.
Investigators said Caballero expressed a romantic interest in Marcano which was repeatedly denied by the teenager.
