RawNews1st – Police responded to a report of a home on Marcy Street that was struck with a stray bullet at 9:44pm on Friday evening.
While officers were investigating the complaint a 66-year-old resident of 31 Chestnut Street began shooting rounds out of the windows of his home and subsequently barricaded himself inside the home and would not heed direction from officers on scene.
Township police were assisted on scene by Wilkes-Barre City Police, Ashley Police, PA State Police, PA State Police Special Emergency Response Team, the Luzerne County Detectives and District Attorney’s Office.
The incident is pending additional investigation by the PA State Police Troop P Wilkes-Barre. The subject was turned over to their custody.

A search warrant was served at the residence where the subject was taken into custody at 7:04am on January 07 after police were forced to make entry into the home.
