Six people were shot outside of a Brighton Heights church Friday afternoon during a funeral service, police said.
All of the victims were reported to be in stable condition by mid-afternoon, police said.
The funeral was for John Hornezes Jr., 20, a North Side resident who was shot killed during a triple shooting Oct. 15 on the city’s North Side. Two women also were killed in that shooting.
Friday’s funeral took place at Destiny of Faith Church at Benton Avenue and Brighton Road. A call for shots fired came in at 12:04 p.m.
At least 30 rounds were fired by multiple gunmen, according to police Cmdr. Richard Ford. He did not release any information about suspects.
