RawNews1st -At approximately 11:36pm, Douglas County Deputies were patrolling the RTD Lincoln Light Rail parking lot at 10203 Station Way, Lonetree and came upon a suspicious looking black Kia with no license plates and the locks punched out.
Deputies approached the vehicle when suspects from inside the vehicle opened fire on our deputies. 6 deputies returned fire killing the two occupants inside the vehicle.
One deputy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. While there is no longer a danger to the public, there is an active crime scene so please avoid the area.

The RTD Lincoln Station Parking Garage and Ramp will be closed until further notice, please make other arrangements at the Ridgegate or Park Meadows RTD locations while the investigation is completed.
No other information can be released at this time while the investigation remains open and active
