New York- Five Rochester women were arrested in Chemung County Thursday, after police said they stole nearly $16,000 in merchandise from an Ulta Beauty
According to investigators, the women entered the store with grocery bags, filled them with products, and left within about two minutes, never disguising their intentions to steal.
They ultimately walked out with $15,725 in products and $455 in antitheft devices.
According to New York State Police, troopers were called to the store on County Route 64 in Horseheads around 8:20 p.m. for reports of a larceny in progress. Investigators on scene saw a white Buick trying to flee the parking lot while two women ran after it carrying large bags full of merchandise.
Police prevented the vehicle from leaving and took four women into custody: Erica A. Jones, Kadestiny Albrianna, Desiree Walker, and Latanetta William, all from Rochester.
Each was charged with felony grand larceny.
Jones, 26, Albrianna, 28, and Williams, 28, were jailed. Walker, 30, was released.
