5 arrests made in Matthew Perry’s ketamine death amid investigation.
The bombshell arrests were made early Thursday, ABC News reported.
The five suspects include two physicians who were allegedly the original source of Perry’s ketamine supply, the outlet said, citing a federal source with knowledge of the indictments.
Authorities believe that the drug became too expensive, and Perry started sourcing his supply from a woman known as the “Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles,” the source said.
Charges are expected to be announced at a news conference later in the day with the US attorney for Los Angeles and a representative from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The charges will include the death of another person, who is referred to in the indictment by the initials “C.M.,” ABC reported.
News of the possible arrests was first reported by TMZ, which suggested that the suspects included at least one physician and “several” drug dealers.
Perry, 54, was found dead in the heated end of the pool at his Pacific Palisades home on Oct. 28, 2023.
His cause of death was attributed to the acute effects of the anesthetic ketamine.
At the time of his death, Perry had about 3.54 micrograms per milliliter of ketamine in his bloodstream — which is nearly three times the normal amount.
The actor, who was open about his struggle with mental illness and addiction, was undergoing ketamine therapy for depression, but he had last been treated over a week before he died, according to the autopsy report.
