On January 19 around 8 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of Central Ave. In Pawtucket, Rhode Island, for a report of gunshots in the area.
When they arrived, officers found 33-year-old Jocelyn Docouto with multiple gunshot wounds on the corner. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a gray SUV was seen fleeing the scene.
34-year-old Michael Fernandes is facing several charges in the shooting death of Docouto. Those charges include Domestic-Murder, Discharge of a Firearm Resulting in Death, Carrying Pistol without a License, Large Capacity Feeding Device Prohibited, and Domestic – Violation of No Contact Order.
No further information had been released.
Fernandes is expected to be arraigned at Providence District Court on Monday.
People close to Docouto say she was a gifted hairstylist and entrepreneur, as well as the loving mother of two young children.
